" Présentoir " for rings .

  

  This is from a set of 4 " présentoirs " for rings . Made from a steel plate welded on a square tube on which I come to screw a forged shape on which the ring is placed . Then patinated black .

  The forging of bracelets is continuing. I did not keep track of each bracelet I forged but only took pictures of some, juste the count of the pictures is above 100... From now on I decided to only make bracelets to which the screw is attached so you do not loose that tiny and precious screw.

This bracelet is forged out of a steel rod which you can find on any work site. This bracelets closes with a screw coming from a sewing machine . The hinge is made from a nail that I turned into a rivet using the head of the nail .

 Cercle de fer sur lequel je suis venu viser 3 pieds forger à partir de fer à béton . Le cerclage n'est pas fermé ( pas de soudure) pour permettre au support de s'adapter à la tourie selon le poids qu'elle contiendra. Il y a un join en caoutchouc sur le support pour recevoir la tourie afin qu'elle ne soit pas en contact direct avec le métal, car cela pourrait la feller avec le poid .

Machine à coudre, machine à écrire, fer à béton .

   Un assemblage pour un présentoir pour les bijoux de Tabito jewelry qui seront bientôt exposés à Shape http:/www.iloveshapescom/pop-up . Du bas vers le haut. La basse vient d'une machine coudre sur laquelle j'ai vissé une pice de machine à écrire. De cette pièce en font partent deux tiges de fer àbéton forger pour venir se fixer en haut sur une autre pice de machine à écrire . les deux extensions sur les côtés viennentégalement de la machine à écrire mais la plus petite est adaptée sur le stand avec des pièces de machine à coudre ...

INVITATION

We will be showing our jewelry &  lights at Orybany Form the  4th of March until the 29 of March . 

 We would like to invite you for the opening and a drink on the 4th. of March from 16 pm  at the shop : 50 rue des Tanneurs 1000 Brussels .  

We propose two work shop on the 8 & 11 of March . We will show you how to make some of our kimono jewelry & how to make a ring out of a fork . 

" Chandelier "

 
  Only a little forging on this single candle " Chandelier " . The idea poped in my head at the end of a day work when I was cleaning all the bits and parts which were scattered on the ground. I saw that metal spiral and the lifting weight and they just seamed to fit perfectly together. They did almost and had just to fill it a little, heat them up in the forge , force them in each other, forge the point for the candle & do the patination. Et voila !

I was ask to make a presentation stand for very delicate decoration made from silk for the bride hairstyle. Here is what came out of the fire . Forged out two bares of steel, 3 screws, one bolt & a casted iron base coming from the foot of a lamps, plus a little of charcoal and tea . . .

        It has been some time that nothing new came on the blogs . . . Well I was in the forge
      forging. Many objects came out of the forge this month, presentation stands and new collections.
      I show you here a couple of necklaces part of a bigger collection .    

Presentation stand for jewelry #2

 This one will be used in Antwerpen for our recycled "colabo" jewelry in a place we will inform soon on Tabito Jewelry face book page . 

  Made out of different parts of a Singer sawing machine & forged steel . This " présentoir " can move 360 ° , can be unbuild in two easily , has a hook that can move along a bare, a double hook on top that can as well move in 360° & can hold 6 necklaces at different heights.

The base is welded to the steel rode, the rest of the object is just fitted or screwed.

  It is never ending, now almost three years I am forging the steel bracelets . Technic is improving, it is getting easier and faster to get to the result I am seeking. And by improving more possibilities are showing them self to me, it was a pleasure making the bracelets but now it is getting to great pleasure.
  This time I forged 6 Pcs. to the image of the very first one I forged for Miho three years ago.

" Colabo recycled jewelrey "

  Recently Miho & I have been working on jewelry. A collaboration were fine jewelry hand work get together with the forge & heavier metal work. After treasure hunting on different " brocante", getting exalted from all those little inspiring bits and parts were patination of time has left it marks, 

we came up with a few series of recycled necklaces and earrings. Here are a couple of pictures .  

Quarts / steel / brass 

      The steel chain comes from an belgium army name plate dating back to the 50's. The pendant which is at the same time the closing for the necklaces is made from a part of an old sewing machine ( the one's that were working with out electricity and you hand to pedal with your feet ), a part of and axel of a photocopy machine & a brass washer. 

Steel & silver

  Those earring are made from old sewing machine needles as you can see from the advertising paper we found in the needle packing. Those needle are made from quenched steel and are very tine! It is an art to bend them the way you want with out braking them.

  Dimanche 14 , nous avons sortie la forge de l'atelier pour une demonstration de forge a Rixensart . Comme d'habitude j'ai passe du bon tempt a forger a l'exterieur . Meme si il peuvinait un peut dans la matinee. les raillons de soleil revenant dans l'apres midi, le public aussi . En effet vers 14 H jusqu'a la tombe de la nuit nous avons eu un public tres intereser jusqu'au point de franchir la corde que nous avions placer pour garder une disance de securite . . . C'etait le marionetiste qui a franchi la ligne et a prit le marteau . Sa fait toujours plaisir de voir beaucoup d'interet pour ce que l'on fait. alors on lui a appris ! Et je doit dire que le garcon c'est tres bien debrouiller pour une permiere fois . Voici quelques photos qui ont ete prisent par un photographe qui lui aussi avait pas mal d'interest dans ce que nous fesions . Quand je dit "nous " je parle de Martin et moi. Martin est mon enciene appranti qui c'est constuit sa propre forge sur le model de la miene mais en plus grand et mobile ( je veut dire sur roue ) .

  Je vous propose des stages de forge dans mon atelier en cours particulier , puis ce que je n'ai que deux enclumes . . .  

  La journee commance a 9h, par l'allumage de la forge, presentation des outils et les petites regles de securitees. Je vous equipereais du tablier en cuire, des gants et des lunettes de protection. Ne mettez pas de vetement synthetiques ! De vieux vetement en cotton a manche longue avec de bonnes chaussure bien fermer avec des grosses semelles.   Puis le feu et l'acier, nous allons forger! D'abord vous devais bien comprandre les couleurs du metal dans le feu, puis nous allons frapper sur le metal, puis ce que c'est en forgent que l'on devient forgeron . Il n'y a vraiment pas de secret le plus on forge, le plus on comprand et le plus on metrise . Puis ce que nous forgeons ensamble vous serais continuelllement accompagner, avec tous les outils a porter de main. 

 Je forge des objects de petite taille, bijoux , couteaux , luminaires . Donc durant se stage, je vais vous apprandre a forger de petit objects de votre choix. Bien sur nous ferons une petite pause pour le repas que vous apportez et nous finirons la journee vers 16 h .  

 - Le prix d'une journee de stage est de 100 euros. 

 - Le stage se deroule a mon ateleir qui se trouve a 98 rue de Franquenies 1341 Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve.

 - Tous le materiel et equipement pour forger vous est fourni .

      Lampe a petrol

  Lors d'un voyage au Vietnam j'ai ramenais dans mes bagages une petite lampe a petrol faite avec de l'aluminium de recuperation et un contenaire en verre  lui aussi fait de verre recycle.
 Resament j'ai trouver sur une brocantes une machine a coudre d'avant guerre faite a Bruxelles . comme toute les machines que je recupere je les demonte pour y recuperer differentes pieces. Cette fois si je ne suis pas arriver a separer l'axe de la roue en fonte de la machine a coudre, qui entraine la courie en cuire. Roue en fonte dont je voulais faire un socle de lampe... J'ai donc due forger l'axe fixer au socle, le petit problem c'est que si la fonte n'est pas chauffee
uniformement elle eclate . . . J'ai tenter ma chance et j'ai quand meme forger cette piece faite de deux metaux different en gardant la roue en font dans un tissus  que j'ai due garder humide tous le tempt. Voici le resulta .
